Magali R. Abad, B.A.
Ms. Abad, President of MAGBE
She has been working with the South Florida community for over 35 years. She is an experienced community relations & grass roots professional with expertise in both Hispanic and African American/Caribbean communities.
During the 35 year career, Abad have been instrumental assisting several grassroots organizations in their needs to restructure. Abad has successfully administered more than 25 Federal Grants; she has developed, implemented and monitored community educational programs. Ms Abad has developed training for no-profit organizations and their board members, and she has conducted seminars for community training. She also participates in public opinion forums and is frequent guest on local TV and Radio programs.
As excellent facilitator and project manager, Abad spearheaded the effort to create a coalition of 21 Resident Councils from Miami-Dade Public Housing and these effort resulted in grants totaling 2.1 Million Dollars being granted to the resident councils to strengthen their participation in resident’s self sufficiency.
Ms. Abad has successfully executed public involvement plans for The Department of Housing and Urban Development HUD, Florida International University’s Center for Aging, Florida Department of transportation (FDOT) and the Native American Community. Her civic involvement includes, Current Chair of the Miami Dade Hispanic Affairs Advisory Board, Past chair of the Miami Dade County Commission for Women.
Ms. Abad is an active member of several local, State and National Civic Organizations and is extremely committed to her community and has offered pro-bono services to several local organizations, she has been recognized for her dedication to the community and her professional acumen.
Henry Flood, M.A.
Mr. Flood is Director of Grant Writing & Proposal Management for MAGBE
Mr. Flood has over 30 years of experience with grant acquisition and management. He was a participant in the federal Public Law 95-224 grant reform studies that led to major grant management changes in the 1980’s. As consultant to the former Bicentennial Commission on the US Constitution, Henry participated in the making of the Common Rule on Grant Administration and wrote the grant program rules and procedures for administering this 10 million dollar bicentennial Education Grant Program.
Having obtained more than 50 million dollars in grant funding for cities, Since the year 2000, Henry has been a contributing Editor for the Grantsmanship Center Magazine where his feature articles and news pieces on grant management appear quarterly. He has also written for the National Assistance Management Journal and other Washington-based business newsletters on governmental contracts, grants and construction and engineering publications.
Henry Flood is certified by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to conduct project level environmental screenings and assessments using HUD and Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) standards codified at 40 CFR Part 1500 as well as the ASTM standards for Phase 1 and 2 environmental assessments.
ASTM E-1527-00 is a widely accepted guidance document specifically designed to help a purchaser of commercial real estate meet the appropriate inquiry requirements of CERCLA. That document specifies minimum guidelines for conducting a Phase I ESA.
Ana Maria Rodriguez, M.S.
Ana Maria Rodriguez is the latest addition to the MAGBE leadership team. As senior partner, Ana Maria is responsible alongside the firm’s principal, Magali Abad, in the vision, crafting and implementing of strategies for the firm’s clients.
Ana Maria graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor Degree in Communications in 1999 and graduated from Nova Southeastern University with a Master of Science in Leadership in 2009.
She has a vast background in the Public Relations and Governmental Affairs arena, having been directly involved in the 2005 through 2010 Florida Legislative sessions as the Director of Government & Community Relations for Baptist Health South Florida. She provided direct legislative, executive branch, and local government lobbying support for the organization’s five hospitals and 12 medical plazas.
While working there, she was also responsible for implementing the organization’s government and community Relations agenda alongside organization’s Vice President and other organization leaders. She represented the organization in the Community by serving as the liaison to the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, Doral Business Council, Chamber South and various other community groups.
Prior to Baptist Health, she served as a Senior Associate in the Public and Government Relations firm of Robert M. Levy & Associates, with offices in Miami and Tallahassee. She was directly involved in the 2002 through 2004 Florida Legislative sessions and provided direct legislative lobbying support, legislative research, analysis and monitoring, report writing, legislative committee testimony, and other services for the firm’s listing of almost 80 legislative clients.
Ana Maria has served in a leadership capacity in various organizations while serving as Statewide Chair for Connect Florida (a statewide group created by Leadership Florida) from 2009-2010 and launched the Southeast Region for the organization in 2007. She has served on the Board of the Coral Gables Community Foundation and is currently on the board of the Miami Lighthouse for the Blind Young Professionals group.
In November 2010, she was elected the City of Doral Council for a four year term. She was born, raised and educated in Miami and is proud of her Hispanic heritage, having been born to Cuban parents. She enjoys world travel and has visited 17 countries thus far.
Marilyn Rodriguez, Ph.D.
Dr. Rodriguez is the Director of Market Research & Strategy for MAGBE
Dr. Rodriguez is an applied social psychologist, has more than a decade of experience in social and multicultural / Hispanic-centered research. Both in business and academia, Dr. Rodriguez has worked on numerous qualitative and quantitative research projects for both the public and private sector.
Her experience with social research dates back more than 12 years with her initial involvement in the evaluation of the pilot for the Healthy People 2000 program. She has conducted research work for Strategy Research where she was principal investigator on a nation-wide study of Hispanic media needs for the Associated Press and in addition has provided in-depth statistical research and data for major corporate and multi-national clients.
Dr. Rodriguez is a faculty member of the University of Miami psychology department was adjunct faculty at Florida International University and taught social psychology courses at George Washington University. Because of her business experience and continued involvement in academia, she guarantees a sound methodological approach as well as an understanding of current research trends and survey needs particular to multicultural populations.
Lillia Macías-Moriarity, Ph.D
Dr. Macías-Moriarity is Director of Grant Management & Program Evaluation for MAGBE
Dr. Macías-Moriarity was awarded a Masters in Public Health in 1997 and a doctorate in Biomedical Sciences with a concentration in Public Health and Preventive Medicine in 2001. During this period she provided administrative health services to high-risk communities and designed, implemented and evaluated health promotion interventions in Texas and Florida.
Dr. Macías-Moriarity has applied her expertise in research methodologies to develop effective evaluation protocols for local government, hospitals, universities, and for both social service and health service not-for-profit Organizations include but are not limited to:

Her analytical skills have been used in community needs assessments and to satisfy requirements in contacts with the Department of Housing and Urban Development and Florida Department of Juvenile Justice.
Dr. Macías-Moriarity has presented in numerous state and national venues for example American Public Health Association and Texas Public Health Association. As a native to the U.S./Mexico Border Dr. Macias-Moriarity was raised in a bilingual and bicultural environment which gave root to her capacity to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish.
